Brett is an independent Director and is Chairman of the Board, appointed in 2015. An experienced investor, he has an extensive background in private capital markets.
Brett previously held senior executive positions at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund where he was Head of Direct Investments, and Todd Capital Limited where he managed a portfolio of strategic equity investments.
Brett is Chair of the Stevenson Group, Deputy Chair of the Co-operative Bank and Medical Assurance Society, and a director of Woolyarns Holdings.
Independent Director
Amanda is an Independent Director and Chair of the Audit, Risk & Compliance Committee, appointed in 2019. She has varied experience in wealth management, banking and investment research, both in New Zealand and Australia.
Alongside consulting in financial services, Amanda previously held executive roles at BT Financial Group in Sydney where she was Head of Consultant Relations, representing over $40 billion in funds, and several roles at Westpac in New Zealand, covering investments, insurance, Private Banking and mergers. At Morningstar Research Ltd. Amanda was Manager Research, working trans-Tasman rating investment funds.
Chief Executive Officer
Rebecca founded Mint in 2006. She has a strong pedigree in funds management, with a career spanning 35 years', both in New Zealand and offshore.
Her previous executive positions include Managing Director and Chief Investment Officer of Johnson Fry, a London-based funds management firm, acquired by Legg Mason, where she went on to hold the position of Group Chief Executive Officer. On moving to New Zealand she became Chief Investment Officer for ING (NZ) Limited.
Rebecca has been a Director and Chair of the AFRC of KiwiRail Holding Limited and an Associate member and AFRC Chair on the Board of the Financial Markets Authority from 2011-2016. She has also held several non-executive directorships for investment and property trusts, including Pathfinder Development Companies and LMI European Utilities Investment Trust Plc.
Rebecca is a member of the Institute of Directors of both New Zealand and London, as well as a member of the Securities and Investment Institute of London. She has completed examinations for the UK Institute of Investment Management and Research and the London Stock Exchange.
As CEO, Rebecca is responsible for the management of Mint, working closely with the executive team and Board to achieve the vision that drove her to establish the firm and continues to drive it forward.
Head of Investments
Anthony has over 32 years’ experience in the financial sector. Before joining Mint, Anthony was the manager of the Investment Analysis team at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund. During his five years at the New Zealand Superannuation Fund, Anthony was involved in the development and execution of a range of investments, and developed the strategy to manage the in-house New Zealand equities portfolio. Prior to this Anthony was Portfolio Manager (New Zealand Equities) at BT Funds Management Ltd and a member of the Investment Committee.
Anthony holds an MBA from the University of Otago.
At Mint, Anthony is responsible the Investment Team and investment process, manages the Australasian Equity funds, and provides research across some sectors.
Portfolio Manager
Carlie has over 27 years’ experience in the financial sector focusing primarily on funds management, equity research and analysis. She gained the majority of her equity experience with Goldman Sachs JBWere in Auckland, where she held both research and investment banking roles.
Prior to Mint, Carlie was a member of the executive team at Kiwi Income Property Trust (now Kiwi Property Group), where she was responsible for investor relations and communication as well as providing strategic input into a number of Kiwi’s corporate projects.
Carlie holds a Bachelor of Science (Mathematics) and Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) from Auckland University.
At Mint, Carlie manages the Listed Property funds, and provides research coverage across a number of sectors. Carlie was a founding member of the Mint investment team.
Portfolio Manager
David has over 15 years' experience in the financial industry and joined Mint after returning from 5 years working in London. During his time in London, he worked for global private equity firm Pantheon Ventures before joining Lloyds Bank as a Derivatives Analyst.
Previously David worked at BT Funds Management (NZ) as both a Quantitative and Equity Analyst undertaking sector research specialising in Transportation, Utilities and Technology in both New Zealand and Australian markets.
David holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Hons.) from the University of Canterbury and is a CFA Charterholder.
At Mint, David is the Portfolio Manager for the NZ SRI Equity Fund, and provides research across a number of sectors.
Portfolio Manager
John has over 22 years' experience and joined Mint from ANZ Investments where he was Head of Australasian Equity Research. In New Zealand, he previously worked as Senior Analyst at AMP Capital undertaking analytical research on a range of sectors including Transportation, Healthcare and Technology companies across both New Zealand and Australia.
Prior to that John was based in London where he worked at JP Morgan as Head of European Aerospace and Defence Research. During this time, he was also heavily involved in corporate broking.
John started his career as a sell-side analyst working for ABN AMRO where he covered a range of sectors including Paper and Packaging, Support Services and Engineering.
John holds a BA in Modern Languages (French and Russian) and European Studies from the University of Bath and a Postgraduate Diploma in Organisation and Management from Cape Town University.
At Mint, John is Portfolio Manager for an Australasian equity fund, and provides research coverage across a number of sectors.
Portfolio Manager
Marek has over 16 years’ experience in the investment sector focusing primarily on quantitative analysis, investment research and financial modelling. He arrived in New Zealand in 2016 from Edinburgh where he managed the Investment Research Team at Tcam Asset Management and was responsible for helping to formulate and implement the firm's investment strategy.
Marek holds two MSc degrees, one in Econometrics from University of Gdansk, Poland and the second in Computer Science from Heriot-Watt University, Scotland. He has considerable experience across the investment sector, having worked previously for BlackRock, Aberdeen Standard Investments and Baillie Gifford.
At Mint, Marek is the Portfolio Manager for the Multi-asset class funds. He is also responsible for Strategic and Tactical Asset Allocation.
Investment Analyst
Henry has experience in quantitative analysis over a broad range of asset classes and joined Mint from PwC where he specialised in Derivatives and Structured Product valuations. Prior to this, he also spent time at ANZ Investments, having worked as a summer analyst with the Investment Management team.
Henry graduated from the University of Otago in 2019 with a Bachelor of Commerce in Finance and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science. Currently, he is studying towards the CFA designation.
At Mint, Henry works as an Analyst within the investment team where he assists primarily with our Multi-Asset Funds.
Head of Sales & Marketing
David is well known for his passion regarding financial capability with some 39 years in the financial services industry.
Previously David worked for the Commission for Financial Capability (CFFC). Highlights from the role included working on the changes to KiwiSaver as part of the Retirement Income Policy Review, being part of the Government steering group to review the Financial Adviser Act, helping to get financial capability in schools, and getting the good word out any way possible to help New Zealander’s improve their overall financial wellbeing.
Before moving to CFFC, David held General Manager roles with ANZ Wealth in distribution and funds management and was a member of its leadership team.
He is a board member for Stand for Children, an NGO that supports children whose family life puts them at risk, and Play It Strange, a small charity that brings song writing and music alive in schools. He also writes for the preeminent music website Radio 13 reviewing the latest albums and concerts.
At Mint David is responsible for growing the brand and funds under management.
Marketing Manager
Becky joined Mint in 2021 and has over 10 years’ experience in the funds management industry. Spending the early part of her career in London working as an investment assistant for leading wealth manager Brewin Dolphin Ltd.
Moving back to New Zealand in 2013, Becky then joined Milford Asset Management working as Client Services Manager before moving to the Marketing team to take up the role of Communications and Client Experience Manager. In this role she was responsible for all external client communications, social media marketing and the evolution of the client journey including the creation of a client portal and mobile app.
Becky holds a Bachelor of Communication Studies from the Auckland University of Technology and an Investment Foundation Certificate from the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment in London.
Chief Operating Officer
Simon has more than 22 years' experience in the financial sector. Prior to working at Mint, Simon was based in London. The majority of his experience was gained at Aurum Funds Ltd, a Fund of Hedge Funds, and Henderson Global Investors where he worked on both the Equity and Fixed Income desks.
Simon holds a Bachelor of Arts and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Otago.
At Mint, Simon’s role is to manage the operational requirements including portfolio analysis, portfolio compliance, record keeping and third party relationships.
Senior Investment & Operations Manager
Gina has over 11 years' experience in the financial industry. She spent the early part of her career based in Sydney where she was a Senior Fund Accountant at Mainstream BPO for almost 4 years', managing accounts for Major Australian and foreign Fund Managers including Magellan, Hunter Hall and UBS.
Since arriving in New Zealand, Gina has held similar roles at Aon and Perpetual Guardian and immediately prior to joining Mint she was working at the Financial Markets Authority as an Adviser, focusing on licensing and monitoring market participants involved in KiwiSaver management, Managed Investments Schemes (MIS), Managers and Discretionary Managed Investments Schemes (DIMS) providers, and working with the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE) to revise legislation relating to MIS and Kiwisaver.
Gina holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance Major) from the University of Wollongong, a Postgraduate Diploma in Accounting from the University of Western Sydney and is a qualified member of CPA Australia.
Fund Operations Manager
Robbie has over 7 years' experience in financial services. He arrived in New Zealand in 2016 from Edinburgh, where he was responsible for investor communications and marketing for global institutional clients at Baillie Gifford.
Since then Robbie has worked at Aon, focusing on new business acquisitions and risk management broking for large New Zealand corporate accounts.
Robbie holds an MSc in International Strategic Marketing from the University of Glasgow and a BA in Business & Management from Glasgow Caledonian University, both in Scotland.
At Mint, Robbie manages fund operations and supports new business development.
