Falling Bank Interest Rates - What are the real risks?

19 August 2019

David Boyle our Head of Sales and Marketing recently spoke to Frances Cook from “Cooking The Books” at NZME about falling interest rates and how they are affecting in particular, those on a fixed income. Of course falling interest rates are great if you have a mortgage, or want to get your foot in the door of the housing market, but spare a thought for those investors that are on a fixed income and have been living off their interest on a bank term deposits.

David covered off a number of questions and thoughts with Frances which included, have we hit rock bottom yet with interest rates, or is there still more cuts to come?, what other investment options are out there to help improve your income?, understanding the risks you might face when seeking higher returns and why a little bit of qualified financial advice might help you dodge the investment landmines out there.
