Mint wins Morningstar New Zealand Fund Manager of the Year 2019 Award - Domestic Equities Category

Morningstar recently held its Fund Manager of the Year Awards in Auckland, and we are pleased to announce that Mint took the title for Domestic Equities with our flagship fund, the Australia New Zealand Active Equity Trust.

Tim Murphy, Morningstar Director of Manager Research Asia Pacific, said “Markets posted a mixed bag of returns in 2018 and the select list of fund managers all demonstrated an ability to add value over the year and consistently reward over the long-term too.”

Anthony Halls, Head of Investments, accepted the award on behalf of the Mint team and was rapt with the win emphasising “It’s a great reflection of the team approach and expertise at Mint to consistently deliver good returns while managing the portfolio with the least amount of risk.”

Morningstar echoed Anthony’s view further by adding “Mint Asset Management continues to deliver returns to justify is position among the top echelon of Australasian equity managers.  The team’s focus on finding quality companies with sustainable growth has paid dividends in a significant way, consistently leading peer-beating outcomes in 2018 and over the long term.”

Rebecca Thomas, Chief Executive Officer & Executive Director of Mint, said she was thrilled to receive the award from Morningstar, which reflects the fundamental investment approach Mint has been delivering since the fund was established back in February 2007.
